L’ho visitata tardi, la galleria. Borghese.
Sicuramente uno dei primi posti da visitare quando si è a Roma come turisti, figuriamoci quando si abita a Roma. Non possono passare 16 anni prima di scoprirla, ma tant’è.

I visited Galleria Borghese only few days ago, but this is a must.
A place that you should visit in your first trip to Rome as a tourist.
The point is that now I live here and I waited for 16 years before entering.

Mi sono perso tra le sculture e le decorazioni delle sale, nella loro ambivalenza tra statico e dinamico.
Ho scattato fotografie perchè le suggestioni erano molte e il tempo poco.

I wandered between sculptures and room decorations, I lost myself in this game of static and dynamic.
Photographing too much came natural to me there, because I had too many inputs and a short time to visit.

Meglio andare nell’orario di chiusura, può capitare di rimanere soli in stanza con Paolina Borghese.

I suggest to visit on the last hours before the closing time, you may find yourself alone in the room with Paolina Borghese.

Fuori Catalogo

Ieri abbiamo presentato alla fiera “Più libri più liberi” la seconda edizione del libro “Fuori Catalogo” di cui ho curato la parte fotografica. Ecco un assaggio.

Today at the book faire “Più libri più liberi” here in Rome we talked about the second edition of the book “Fuori Catalogo”. This is a small selection of the photos I made for the book, just to tease you.

Per chi segue questo blog il protagonista di queste foto non è nuovo, si tratta di Fausto Delle Chiaie. Su di lui avevo fatto un documentario qualche anno fa.

Those who follow this blog may recognize the subject , Fausto Delle Chiaie. I made a short documentary about him some year ago.

Fausto è un artista che da 30 anni espone le sue opere tra il Mausoleo di Augusto e l’Ara Pacis, a Roma, per strada. Il suo è il cosiddetto “Museo all’aria aperta”. Concettualmente formidabile, spiazzante e in costante evoluzione.

Fausto is an artist wich exhibits his works near the Ara Pacis, in Rome, in the street. He owns an “Open Air Museum”. He’s conceptually formidable, his work is full of irony and is evolving constantly.

La considero una tappa obbligatoria per chi passa da quelle parti, nel pomeriggio il suo museo è aperto dalle 16:30 fino alle 19 circa. Il museo chiude quando l’autore è stanco.

If you are in Rome, this is a must-see. In the afternoon the “Open Air Museum” is open from 4:30 until 7 (more or less). The museum closes when the author is tired.
