In un mercatino di Natale qui a Roma (se non sbaglio era il 2008) trovai questa fotocamera e la comprai per 23 €. Chiariamo subito che ho un debole per le fotocamere russe, ho iniziato a fotografare con una Zenith e sono sempre stato affascinato dalla produzione sovietica pre-crollo del muro.

I bought this camera for 23€, I think it was in 2008 when I found it in a christmas market.
I have a weakness for russian cameras, I started to photograph with a Zenith and I’m really fascinated by the whole production of USSR before the wall’s destruction.
Questa è una TLR, Twin Lens Reflex o reflex a doppio obiettivo, il nome è dovuto (come si vede chiaramente in foto) alla presenza di due ottiche distinte: una è per il mirino l’altra per la pellicola. Le due ottiche sono rapportate tramite ghiere, in modo tale che focheggiando su una lente l’altra si muove di conseguenza.

This is a TLR, Twin Lens Reflex, and its name is due to the double optics on the body (as you can see in these pictures): the first on top is for the viewfinder, the other one is for the film. They’re connected through metal rings that surrounds them, so when you focus the two lens will move togheter.
Il mirino è detto a pozzetto perchè va guardato dall’alto, questo può essere molto comodo quando si vuole fotografare senza dare troppo nell’occhio ed è anche un buon modo per “estraniarsi” visivamente dalla scena che si sta fotografando.

It has a waist-level viewfinder and this means that you have to watch it from the top of the camera: this is a good trick if you want to take pictures without attracting attention or if you want to get out of the context.
Dalle informazioni che ho potuto trovare su internet questo modello è stato prodotto dal 1980 al 1990 nell’allora Leningrado, la scritta sul coperchio del mirino è quella “LOMO” ormai famosa per via della Lomography…ma questa è un’altra storia.

On the net I found that this model was produced from 1980 to 1990 in the old Leningrad, on the viefinder cap you can see the “LOMO” logo embossed. We remember it for Lomography…but that’s another story.
Intorno all’ottica ci sono delle piccole leve che regolano il diaframma (4,5/22) e i tempi di scatto che vanno da 1/250 a 1/15 + posa B.
L’avanzamento della pellicola è manuale quindi ci si può divertire con doppie o triple esposizioni. Su un fianco c’è un alloggio per flash (che non ho mai testato) e nel mirino si può aprire un braccetto con una piccola lente di ingrandimento per mettere a fuoco con più precisione.

Iris (4,5/22) and shutter time (1/250 to 1/15 + B) controls are all around the main lens and film advance is manual so you can have fun with double or triple expositions. On the left side of the body you find the flash shoe (not tested yet) and in the viefinder there’s a little magnifier that really helps while focusing.
Quelli che vedete sono alcuni scatti realizzati con questa fotocamera, la pellicola è una “medio formato” ossia 120 (o 6×6).

Here some photos I made with this camera, is a medium format so yuo have to use 120 film (6×6).
Come vedete non si tratta di un medio formato professionale, ma neanche di una macchina giocattolo visto che per utilizzarla bisogna conoscere le basi della fotografia (non è una “punta e scatta”).
