Montemartini

La centrale Montemartini a Roma è un gioiello sconosciuto a molti, si tratta di uno splendido esempio di riconversione di una centrale termoelettrica in museo. La struttura, inaugurata nei primi del ‘900, fu il primo impianto municipale per la produzione di energia elettrica a Roma. Completa di macchinari e strumentazioni, accoglie oggi statue, mosaici e tombe, creando un interessante accostamento tra archeologia industriale e scultura classica.
Queste foto non rendono sicuramente giustizia al luogo ma solo ad una delle sue statue.

The Centrale Montemartini is a jewel, little-known by tourists or even by romans, it represents a successful conversion of a thermal power plant into a museum. The production started in the early years of the 20th century and this was the first municipal plant for the city of Rome. With its machinery and instrumentation, today it hosts a large number of statues, tombs and mosaics creating an interesting mix of industrial archaeology and classic sculpture.
These two photos don’t make justice to the beauty of the location, but only to one of its statues.

I Capitolini

Ho voluto ricaricare la LC-A (o лк-а, Ломо-Компакт-Автомат) e portarla a fare un giro ai Musei Capitolini.
Li avevo visitati parecchi anni  fa, dieci credo, ma ricordavo quasi tutto il percorso.

This time I chosed the LC-A (or лк-а, Ломо-Компакт-Автомат) and I went again to the Musei Capitolini here in Rome. I visited the museum several years ago, maybe ten, but I still remember the path of the exhibition.

Mi sono sorpreso a rifare foto che avevo scattato in passato con la Canonet 28 e
anche stavolta avevo con me una fotocamera semi-automatica con un’ottica grandangolare.

Sometimes I found myself taking the same pictures as years before, when I had a semi-automatic-wide-lens-camera too with me: the Canonet 28.

Nonostante abbia ormai più di 20 anni, questo apparecchio espone ancora correttamente e riesce a gestire abbastanza bene anche le situazioni con luci critiche.
Ho scattato in bianco e nero, su rullino Kodak T-Max 100 sviluppato, come al solito, in casa.

The LC-A is more than 20 years old but it’s still good at reading the exposition of the scene, even in critical situations.
I shooted in black and white on a Kodak T-Max 100 developed, as usual, at home.

Per stamparle in camera oscura dovrò aspettare temperature più umane, se ne riparlerà a settembre.

I will print these in my darkroom but it’s too hot now. I’ll wait for september and more human temperatures.
