La mancanza di fantasia per un titolo originale

Tante foto a tema neve, come sempre in questo periodo dell’anno. Mi manca però un titolo che non contenga le parole “neve” e “bianco” che ormai ho usato in tutti i modi.

A bunch of photos with snow, as always in this time of the year. I already used every combination I could imagine with the words “snow – neve” and “white – bianca”, so I’m out of decent titles.

Ho realizzato questi scatti verso la fine di dicembre, tra sviluppo e scansione siamo finiti a marzo e la neve lì non c’è più.

I took these photos in the late days of december, then I developed the two rolls and scanned them. Here we are in march and the snow is gone.

Foto scattate con la Mamiya 645J su Ilford HP5+ e sviluppate in casa.
La mia foto preferita in questa serie è la seconda dall’alto. Giusto per dire.

This time I used the Mamiya 645J with the Ilford HP5+, self developed at home. My favourite photo in this serie is the second from the top. Just to let you know.

Notte e neve

Ho ripreso in mano la Holga per fare qualche scatto notturno nei primi giorni di quest’anno.
Il freddo non può fermare la plastica.

In the early days of this 2019 I brought with me the Holga to take some night photographs.
The cold won’t stop the plastic.

Anche in questo caso ho utilizzato la pelicola Ilford Delta 3200, con la sua grana enorme. Ne avrei potuto fare a meno visto che ho usato anche il flash, ma ho voluto provare questa nuova combinazione.
A dir la verità non mi dispiace affatto.

I used the grainy Ilford Delta 3200.
I could have shoot with a less sensitive film, because I was using the flash light, but I simply wanted to try this combination.
As I’m watching the results I can say that I like it in the end.

буран – Roma bianca

La neve a Roma è cosa rara, di solito la città si paralizza dopo un temporale immaginate dopo una nevicata cosa può succedere. Quella mattina dovevo comunque andare a lavoro e sono uscito per prendere l’unico mezzo di trasporto a prova di nevicata, la metro.

The snow here in Rome is uncommon. Usually heavy rain is enough to stop the city, so think about what can happen with a snowfall. That day I had to go to work, so I went out to take the underground.

Ovviamente ho portato con me una fotocamera per documentare la “passeggiata”, la scelta è ricaduta sulla LOMO LC-A. Perché è russa, perché è piccola e perché è rapida da usare. Gli ho dato in pasto una pellicola veloce, la Rollei RPX 400, che ha tirato fuori un bel po’ di grana.

I picked up a camera to shoot some photographs of this “walk in the snow”, and that camera is the LOMO LC-A. Because it’s russian, because it’s small and because it’s fast to use. I also took with me a fast film, the Rollei RPX 400, that looks flat and grainy after the developing. 

Con la città imbiancata erano pochi gli impavidi in giro, soprattutto alle 9 di mattina. Queste però sono le rarissime occasioni in cui:
– non c’è traffico,
– l’aria sembra pulita,
– il 90% delle persone sembrano felici.

Probabilmente l’ultimo punto è dovuto al fatto che in molti hanno saltato il primo giorno di lavoro della settimana.

The city was completely white and only few people were on the street at 9 AM.
On these occasions in Rome:
– there’s no traffic,
– the air seems to be clean,
– 90% of people seems to be happy.

Probably because they don’t have to go to work in the first day of the week.
