Le strade di Cannes

Circa un mese fa sono stato di nuovo a Cannes per il Festival grazie a questo corto e ho portato con me la “quasi” francese Rolleiflex T (“quasi” perchè era importata “d’allemagne”).

A month ago I was in Cannes at the Festival thanks to this short and I took with me the “almost” french Rolleiflex T (“almost” because it was imported from “allemagne”).

Una volta tanto ho optato esclusivamente per il colore, altrimenti a questo punto mi sarei mangiato le mani.
Avevo con me 3 Portra 400 che erano nella riserva da un po’ di tempo e mi sono divertito a finirle scattando come se non ci fosse un domani, come se fossero gratis.

This time I choose colors and I made the right choice.
I took three rolls of Portra 400 I stored home for a long time and I had a lot of fun shooting with these, like there’s no tomorrow.

Ad ogni metal detector attraversato arrivava puntuale il commento degli addetti alla sicurezza: “trés jolie!”. Ho fatto quindi la mia figura, posso ritenermi soddisfatto.

At every metal detector I heard somene of the security say “trés jolie!” so I am totally satisfied.

Credo sia la prima volta che la uso per fare street photography in questa maniera: alla cieca e in iperfocale (più facile se è quasi estate e con una 400 iso). Diciamo che un 70% degli scatti di questo post sono fatti cosi.

I think that it was the first time I was using this camera to do street photography this way: shooting randomly calculating hyperfocal distances (easy to do in sunny days with a 400 iso film). Almost 70% of the pictures you see in this post was made this way.

Appena vedevo qualcosa di rosso scattavo: il rosso rende bene a colori.
A vedere il risultato finito non sono solo i rossi a rendermi felice.
In generale i colori di questa pellicola sono molto saturi in condizioni di sole pieno e il cielo è sempre più blu.

Everytime I saw something red I took a picture: they say red is good in photos.
When I see these pictures I understand that not only reds make me happy.
This film has great saturated colors on sunny days and the skies are amazing.

Dalle foto scattate ho scartato quelle meno interessanti e più banali: il red carpet che veniva srotolato, la torre con la bandierina…e praticamente tutto ciò che riguarda il Festival.
Stavolta solo facce da strada, pure e a colori.

I rejected the less interesting photos: some guys unrolling the red carpet, the tower of the city with its flag…and basically everyting strictly related to the Festival. 
This time only street-faces, pure and in full colors.
